Corruption level in Azerbaijan has dropped this year from 1.9 to 2.3 points over 2008, reports Transparency International’s website.

The statement says the progress is connected with the work conducted by the government to improve business environment and measures taken to fight corruption.

Notably, Transparency International studied corruption level in 180 countries assessing them by 10 points scale. The calculations were conducted by 3 independent organizations of the studied countries.

Notably, Transparency International is an international nongovernmental organization founded in 1993 dealing with problems of combat with corruption.

Today, the organization has 100 foreign affiliates coordinated by the International Secretariat in Berlin. “The corruption perception index” has been prepared since 1995.
