Armenia-US military cooperation planning conference held in Yerevan.

The Armenian Ministry of Defense hosted on Monday the annual Armenia-US military cooperation planning conference that brought together defense officials from both states to discuss future joint plans.

According to the Ministry’s press service, the US delegation attending the event included representatives from the country’s European Command, the Kansas National Guard and US navy officers serving in Europe.

The conference was aimed at discussing joint actions stemming from the 2013-2014 US-Armenia cooperation program and preparing a defense cooperation plan between the Ministry and the US European Command.

The plan is due to be signed in a couple of weeks through an exchange of letters between the two agencies.

A deputy minister of defense, David Tonoyan, received the guests at the ministry. The sides highly praised the current level of collaboration, stressing the need for strengthening mutual ties in the peacekeeping capacity building efforts and defense reforms.
