SOCAR starts new well drilling in Balakhany field

State Oil Company of Azerbaijan has begun drilling a new well in onshore Balakhany.

According to sources in the company, the projected depth of N4022 well is 980 meters. Geologists predict the expected well output to be at 4 tonnes a day.

The field is developed by Balakhanyneft oil and gas producing structure.

Additionally, a part of the field is a contract area, developed by German UGE-Lanser. Under the 25-year contract, SOCAR holds 25% share and Lancer holds 75%. The contract envisions development of Balakhany, Sabunchi, Ramany and Kurdakhany.

SOCAR drills new well on Pirallahi field

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan has started drilling a new well on Pirallahi field.

According to a statement in the company, the projected depth of the No1077 well is 770 m. Geologists say the expected well output will be 4 tonnes of oil daily.

The field was launched in 1902. By latest estimates, its deposits make up some 2m tones.
