The Real Estate Registration Project implemented by the Government of Azerbaijan together with the World Bank (WB) has extended for another 2 years.

The statement came from the head of WB monitoring mission on Real Estate Registration Project Gavin Adlington.

The contract for the project was signed in 2008 and had to be completed in 2012.

"In my country formation of a more perfect system of property registration took about 60 years, while in Azerbaijan project was implemented over five years. Work in this direction has been successfully continued. Steps are being taken to create modern IT-systems, develop digital cadastral maps, etc.

The only problem is the automated document management systems of the State Committee for Land and Cartography of Azerbaijan. But we are quite optimistic and confident that this problem will find its solution as soon as possible," said Adlington.

According to him, the Real Estate Registration Project, implemented by the World Bank in cooperation with the State Committee for Property Affairs of Azerbaijan, has been extended until the end of 2014.
