Baku-based EBRD resident office’s head Neal McCain says that the Bank began a pilot project within the framework of the Gender Equality Plan - “Promotion of gender equality in the financial sector in Azerbaijan”, Fineko reports.
"The project will be funded by the EBRD, the performers are the Frankfurt Finance & Management School and the Azerbaijan Microfinance Association," he said.
He added that a special seminar has been held today. It was devoted to women entrepreneurs’ access to financial services and products and the position of women in the banking sector. The seminar, in addition to female entrepreneurs, involved representatives of banks, non-bank credit organizations, the Association of Women Entrepreneurs, which will actually be able to give impetus to the development of women’s entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, as well as access for them to leading positions in the banking sector.
Experts of the Frankfurt School, and the Association of Microfinance will hold for women entrepreneurs courses on the themes: "Managing and medium level of management", "current and potential employees, female credit experts" and training courses for internal staff.
