New family of leopards spotted in Azerbaijan

As a result of studies conducted by the Institute of Bioresources of ANAS Nakhchivan branch, a family of leopars was found in the Soyugdag section of Zangezur National Park and in the Deresham section of Babek region.

Oxu.Az reports with reference to AzerTag that the lair of a family of leopards and three cubs was spotted on the camerasş

Director of the Institute of Bioresources, Academician Tariel Talibov noted that the appearance of leopards in the park is due to the feed stock. He stressed that the introduction of ban on mouflon and bezoar goats hunting led to the growth of their population. This, in turn, led to the expansion of the range and numbers of leopards population.
