Five leopard cubs born in Azerbaijan

A female leopard with two cubs was caught by a camera trap in the Hirkan National Park, Azerbaijan in the autumn of 2016, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told APA.

The photo was taken by a camera trap installed within the framework of the project held regarding restoration of leopard population with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) international environmental campaign as well as the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

The ministry said it has been able for the first time to prove the fact of the natural growth of leopard populations in the park.

Besides, three more leopard cubs were caught by a camera trap in the Zangazur National Park named after Hasan Aliyev in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
