Monument to victims of Khojaly genocide to be erected in Turkish Isparta

Head of Isparta Municipality Ziya Gunaydin said this is the tragedy of not only the Azerbaijani people but also all Turks.

The request of deputies Ganira Pashayeva, Elman Mammadov, chairman of the Azerbaijani-Turkish association Tanzila Rustamova visiting Turkey, to erest the monument of the victims of Khojaly tragedy in Turkish Sparta was welcomed by the head of the city municipality.

According to News.Az, this monument may appear in the city in the nearest future.

Deputy Pashayeva said the Khojaly tragedy will mark 20 years next year and the monument will demonstrate Turkey’s sensitivity in this issue and will also serve a warning of the need to recognize Armenian crimes against Azerbaijanis as genocide.

“We wish this monument will be erected next year and we, with our Turkish brothers, will hold events on 20th anniversary of the Khojaly massacre”, Pashayeva said.

Head of Sparta Municipality Ziya Gunaydin said this is the tragedy of not only the Azerbaijani people but also all Turks and they will be next to Azerbaijani brothers after it.
