Visiting Azerbaijan, the French Senate delegation has today visited the Guba Genocide Memorial Complex.

Members of the observation mission coming to observe the presidential elections, headed by Senator Nathalie Goulet, laid a flower before the monument and commemorated the memory of the genocide victims.

The French senators familiarized with the museum created at the Memorial Complex and were informed in detail about the genocide committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis in 1918. They viewed photo and video materials reflecting peaceful life of Guba before March 1918. It was noted that the Guba Genocide Memorial Complex carries significance in terms of remembering and passing down this fact to future generations.

The French Senate members planted trees in the area of the Complex as a sign of respect to the memory of the victims. The Senate members wrote down in the memory book "These events should not be forgotten for not to be repeated".
