The AFFA disciplinary commission has sent a letter to Azerbaijan’s Khazar Lankaran football club.

According to the website for the southern team, FIFA admitted that its decision to lift six points from Khazar Lankaran was a mistake. The debate broke after the former player of the Lankarani team Romulo Silvano Silva appealed to FIFA claiming that the amount envisaged in the contract was not paid to him in full. However, the debt was paid on time.

“We would like to inform you that we learned that Khazar Lankaran paid the remaining amount of the debt to footballer Romulo Silvano Silva on 30 March 2012 which is why we believe that lifting six points from the team’s score was a mistake”, the letter to Khazar Lankaran says.

Thus, Khazar Lankaran has now 54 points and it comes second after neftchi in the Azerbaijani Unibank Premier League.
