Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey has made some statements on his flight back to Washington from his visit to Turkey.

He said Turkish officials had told of their concern over the protracted confrontations in Syria.

The US General said further that Turks were proud of the success with which they assisted the Syrians sheltering on Turkish territories to flee the atrocities but they were also worried about the seemingly unending streaming of Syrians into the country and wanted international aid to help out the Turkish state in that respect.

Dempsey said he had told Turkish authorities Washington was going to closely monitor the situation and pledged exchange of ideas and consultations would continue between the two countries in the face of the emergence of unexpected humanitarian issues.
