TRT director general criticises Eurovision's voting system

I held discussions about who will be first in the Eurovision before coming for a meeting to Baku regarding the contest.

The statement came from TRT Director General Ibrahim Shahin in his interview to newspaper Turkey, Gun.Az reports.

"And she became first. I wondered whether it was coincidence or not, but she, as if already a winner of the contest, held a press conference in the evening ahead of the contest," he said.

According to the Anatolia Agency, the second Special Advisory Board Meeting of the Eurovision Song Contest was held at the Mesut Jemil studio of the Istanbul Radio.

Addressing the meeting, TRT Director General Ibrahim Shahin criticized the voting system of the contest.

"Discussions were held about who will be first in the Eurovision before coming for a meeting to Baku regarding the contest. And she became first. I wondered whether it was coincidence or not, but she, as if already a winner of the contest, held a press conference in the evening ahead of the contest.

We joined the contest with an ambitious group. We hoped to gain more votes. You see neighbour giving votes to neighbour. But at times there occur dilemmas at the contest," the TRT director genral said.
