Israeli embassy in Azerbaijan again suspends its activity

The Israeli embassy in Azerbaijan is closed, the attempts to contact the ambassador have failed.

The Israeli embassy in Azerbaijan has shut down for an indefinite period. The auto-reply of the diplomatic office says the embassy is closed.

The attempts to contact the Israeli ambassador in Azerbaijan by cell phone have been unsuccessful too.

The embassy once suspended its activity for technical reasons on 14 February. Nonetheless, on 15 February, it resumed functioning. According to the Israeli ambassador in Azerbaijan Mikhael Lavon Lotem, the suspension was caused by logistical problems and was technical.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has not received an official information about the suspension of the activity of the Israeli embassy in Azerbaijan.

The statement came from spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan Elkhan Polukhov.
