Azerbaijan buys great deal of weapons from Israel last year

Azerbaijan purchased weapons and military equipments from Israel.

APA reports quoting its military sources that according to the contracts signed between the two countries, a great deal of small arms, communications devices, missile and unmanned systems has been purchased from Israel.

The small arms purchased from Israel last year include UZI machine pistols, various modifications of TAR-21 “Tavor” assault rifle, Negev light machine guns, sniper rifles, missile complexes, artillery systems with various calibers and command and control systems.

Moreover, Azerbaijan along with Israel’s “Aeronautics” company produced “Orbiter 2M” and “Aerostar” unmanned systems in the country in 2012 and also purchased “Heron” and “Hermes-900” new unmanned systems from Israel’s “Elbit Systems”. The delivery of the rest of the orders will be continued in 2013.

Azerbaijan and Israel signed a contract in 2011on the sale of weapons and military equipments worth $1.6 billion. Azerbaijan purchased the products from mainly “Elbit Systems”, “Rafael”, IWI and IMI companies.
