Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry has made an official statement related to disinformation, spread by a number of Armenian media.

Armenian media spread information about the alleged violation of ceasefire by a diversion group of the Azerbaijani armed forces on the contact line of troops and provocations in the territory of Nagorno Karabakh, as a result of which the Armenian armed forces sustained losses.

According to the news service for the Defence Ministry of Azerbaijan, losses in the Armenian armed forces occur as a result of the low discipline, rude violation of relations between the officers and soldiers, including between the soldiers recruited from Armenia and Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh.

The Defence Ministry of Azerbaijan states officially that there was no incident on the contact line and the information spread by Armenian media is a lie and provocation.

Armenian armed forces have earlier spread information in line with which the Azerbaijani armed forces allegedly undertook two attempts of diversion on the contact line of troops on the night of 20 January, as a result of which junior sergeant Armen Hovannissian died.
