"I was wrong less than the players."

Head coach of Azerbaijani football team Berti Vogts commented on the qualifying match of Euro 2016 against Croatia (0: 6), Oxu.Az reports citing

"I congratulate the team of Croatia with a victory. The score corresponds to the game. One team was playing soccer, and the other was not ready physically. In football, it is necessary to run. My team can not play every two days. It was very difficult to play with two such strong contenders in such a short period.

Azerbaijani clubs do not play such way. My manager will talk to the leadership of AFFA. Because in such circumstances I have no future in Azerbaijan.

The Croats were very strong at the wings, and we could not resist them. I told the players that the flanks are very dangerous, but alas ... I always tell the players that you have to play tight, but during the game it is not possible to do.

Even after the 20 minute our players had no strength. Today, the best Azerbaijani footballers were on the court.
Have I done the right thing? I was wrong less than the players.

If in the past there used to be three-days breaks between the two games, the team of Azerbaijan would have lost with a high score. We will further have games in such a mode. Therefore, we need to sit down and discuss everything. I have said many times that the clubs need to work more.”
