Russia will provide Armenian Air Defense Forces new possibilities.

Russia will provide Armenian Air Defense Forces possibilities they don’t have, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan stated on June 9 after the governmental meeting, reports.

“There is another side to it: the opportunity to scrutinize the entire surrounding area. We do not have the opportunity, which the Russian military hardware has to offer. Being able to scrutinize our surroundings, in my opinion is very important,” Kocharyan said.

According to him, similar agreements are in force in CSTO territories.

Kocharyan also stated the joint Air Defense system with Russia will not abolish the independence of Armenia’s airspace.

Previously, the Foreign Relations Committee of the Armenian Parliament endorsed the agreement on establishing a joint Air Defense system with Russia.
