A court in Baku has extended the pretrial detention of a group of Russian citizens arrested in connection with an Interior Ministry operation targeting drug trafficking and cyber fraud.

Latvia has ordered 841 Russian citizens to leave the country by October 13 after they failed to demonstrate their proficiency in the Latvian language and undergo mandatory security checks.

From March 2022 to July 2024, 1,535,889 Russian and Ukrainian citizens have arrived in Azerbaijan. According to News.Az, citing the State Committee on Statistics , the majority of the migration flow consisted of Russian citizens, with a sharp increase in arrivals observed last year.
