6.9-magnitude earthquake strikes off Papua New Guinea coast
A 6.9-magnitude earthquake has struck off the coast of Papua New Guinea, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake struck at a depth of 10km near the southern coast of New Britain at about 7.04am, it said, News.Az reports citing foreign media.
The US Tsunami Warning Center said there is a threat of a tsunami.
