A Long March-2C carrier rocket lifted off at 12:01 p.m. Beijing Time, successfully placing the satellite into its planned orbit, News.Az reports, citing Xinhua.
The satellite, developed for Algeria, will be primarily used for land planning as well as disaster prevention and mitigation.
Saturday’s mission marked the 629th launch of China’s Long March rocket series.
