Boeing has been cleared to advance its delayed 777 9 jet into the next phase of certification testing, according to reports.

Boeing and Emirates announced that the airline, the world’s largest international carrier, has placed its third order for 777X aircraft to support future growth and rising travel demand.

Boeing has resumed testing for its long-delayed 777X widebody jet, with the first flight since the company grounded the test fleet in August following a failure in a critical engine mounting structure.

Boeing has temporarily suspended flight testing of its new 777X wide-body jet after discovering a failure in a part that connects the engine to the aircraft's body. This issue adds to a series of quality control challenges that have plagued the U.S. aerospace giant in recent years.
