All four South Korean Navy officers aboard a maritime patrol aircraft were killed after the plane crashed on a mountain in the southeastern city of Pohang on Thursday, the Navy said.

Muan International Airport, which had been completely closed due to the Jeju Air passenger plane crash on Dec. 29 last year, has resumed flights for emergency medical care and educational training after 56 days.

All airports in South Korea will be required to install bird detection cameras and thermal imaging radars by 2026, following a tragic air crash in December that claimed the lives of 179 people.

South Korean officials reported on Saturday that the black boxes of a jet that crashed last month at Muan International Airport ceased recording before the crash, with data from the final four minutes leading up to the explosion missing, News.az reports citing Yonhap.

The flight data and cockpit voice recorders on the Jeju Air jet that crashed on Dec. 29 stopped recording about four minutes before the airliner hit a concrete structure at South Korea's Muan airport, the transport ministry said on Saturday.
