6.5-magnitude earthquake hits south of Fiji Islands

A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck south of the Fiji Islands on Monday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 174 kilometers (108 miles), USGS said, News.Az reports, citing foreign media.
The US Tsunami Warning System said a tsunami was not expected.
