An Iranian revolutionary court has reportedly issued a death sentence for a man accused of “enmity against God,” believed to be the first such sentence connected to the mass protests in January, a source close to the family told on Tuesday.

The man, identified as Mohammad Abbasi, has not yet had his sentence publicly announced by Iran’s judiciary, News.Az reports, citing Reuters.

The January protests marked the country’s worst domestic unrest since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, and thousands of people are believed to have been killed during the crackdown.

The unrest prompted a warning from then U.S. President Donald Trump
