Speculation over the next James Bond is intensifying as the iconic franchise prepares for its first new lead since Daniel Craig stepped down.

Oscar-nominated French-Canadian filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, known for Dune, will direct the upcoming James Bond film, according to an announcement from Amazon MGM Studios.

Amazon MGM has officially announced the signing of Amy Pascal, known for overseeing the Spider-Man franchise, and David Heyman, the producer behind the Harry Potter series, to produce the first James Bond film from the studio.
