The four Artemis II astronauts made history earlier this week by breaking the record for the farthest distance any human has traveled in space during their 10-day lunar mission. While venturing beyond where Apollo crews went, the Artemis team is continuing several Apollo-era traditions – including being woken up by music.

At 6:24 p.m. ET on Wednesday, four astronauts are set to launch from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, embarking on a 10-day journey that will take them around Earth and the moon.

On Friday, new NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman revealed a significant revision of the agency's Artemis moon program, admitting that the goal of landing astronauts on the moon by 2028 was unrealistic without an additional preparatory mission to set the stage.
