Daylight saving time officially comes to a close this weekend, with most states in the U.S. set to turn their clocks back by one hour.

As clocks in the UK turn back an hour, giving lighter mornings, an MP has called for a “major overhaul of time.” With British Summer Time (BST) ending and the shift back to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) on Sunday, mornings will see an extra hour of daylight, but evenings will get dark one hour earlier.

For millions of Americans, the end of daylight saving time is approaching, marking a seasonal transition that occurs twice a year. This time change allows for longer evenings in the spring and summer and more daylight in the fall and winter, starting in March and concluding in November.
