China has announced the discovery of its first super-large, low-grade gold deposit in Liaoning Province, a landmark find confirmed by the Ministry of Natural Resources.

British firm Anglo Asian Mining Plc. (AAM) announced on May 19 that it has commenced full-scale production at the Gilar gold deposit in Azerbaijan’s Dashkasan district.

China’s central bank resumed expanding its gold reserves in November, ending a six-month hiatus following a surge in gold prices to record levels.

A massive deposit of high-quality gold ore, containing an estimated 1,000 metric tons (1,100 US tons) of gold, has been uncovered in central China.

From January to October of the current year, 2,167.1 kg of gold was produced in Azerbaijan. According to the State Statistics Committee, gold production in the country increased by 1.7 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
