OpenAI is developing a new lineup of AI-powered consumer devices that could include a smart speaker, smart glasses and even a smart lamp.

OpenAI announced Wednesday that it is acquiring io, the artificial intelligence device startup founded by famed designer Jony Ive, in a deal valued at approximately $6.4 billion.

Jony Ive has confirmed that he’s working with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman on an AI hardware project, News.Az reports citing The Verge .
