China has renewed blue alerts for rainstorms and severe convective weather as authorities warn that large parts of the country could experience heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, hail, and powerful wind gusts over the coming days.

As many as 195,000 were evacuated as rainstorms hit eastern China's Anhui province, according to local media.

The death toll caused by record rainfall in southeastern Brazil jumped to 46 on Sunday and officials expressed alarm about continuing storms, Daily Sabah reported.
