U.S. defense tech company Anduril is facing new scrutiny after two of its Altius drones crashed during Air Force tests this month. Test summaries show one drone plunged 8,000 feet during a demonstration over Florida, while another spiraled down shortly after. The failures highlight a gap between the firm’s claims of battlefield readiness and its real-world performance.

Australia will spend 1.7 billion Australian dollars ($1.1bn) on a fleet of extra-large “Ghost Shark” autonomous underwater attack drones, Defence Minister Richard Marles announced on September 10.

China has imposed sanctions on several U.S. defense companies and their executives in response to the ongoing arms sales to Taiwan. According to a statement from China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the sanctioned companies include Anduril, Maritime Tactical Systems, Pacific Rim Defense, AEVEX Aerospace, LKD Aerospace, and Summit Technology. As part of these measures, the assets of these companies in China will be frozen.
