Seven people were confirmed dead and six others rescued following heavy rains that triggered flooding in several parts of Algeria, civil defense authorities said on Friday and Saturday.

Flash floods caused by torrential rains have claimed 77 lives and left 137 others injured across Afghanistan, the country's National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said in a statement on Saturday.

Flash floods and landslides in the northern Vietnamese province of Dien Bien have resulted in at least eight deaths, with three others still missing.
