Drone strikes on a key power plant in eastern Sudan have plunged major cities, including Khartoum and Port Sudan, into widespread blackouts, underscoring the growing intensity of the country’s civil war.

The eastern Sudanese city of Port Sudan was targeted by drone attacks early Friday for the sixth day in a row, according to Anadolu’s correspondent and eyewitnesses.

The eastern Sudanese city of Port Sudan on Thursday morning faced a fresh drone attack for the fifth consecutive day amid raging fighting between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Multiple explosions have been heard and a huge fire seen in Port Sudan, though the exact locations and causes were unclear, as Sudan’s civil war rocks the previously quiet city for the third day.
