Bill Ackman’s Pershing Square has proposed a major $64 billion deal to merge its acquisition vehicle with Universal Music Group, in a move aimed at relisting the world’s largest music company in the United States and boosting its valuation.

The European Commission has extended its deadline to rule on Universal Music Group’s proposed $775 million acquisition of Downtown Music to December 10, following a request from Universal for more time to respond to regulatory concerns.

Universal Music Group has fired back at Drake's attempt to sue it over the release of Kendrick Lamar's diss track Not Like Us last year.

Drake has withdrawn his legal petition against Spotify and Universal Music Group, in which he accused the companies of orchestrating an illegal “scheme” to artificially inflate numbers for Kendrick Lamar’s hit diss track, “Not Like Us.”
