Española fire forces evacuations as blaze spreads

Residents in Española have been ordered to evacuate as a fast-moving brush fire, known as the Bosque Fire, continues to spread late Friday night.

Local officials say the fire began in brushland and quickly expanded, prompting evacuation orders from the area around Santa Clara Casino through Fairview Bridge, according to a city statement shared on social media, News.Az reports, citing foreign media.

The blaze had reached an estimated 100 acres, with at least two to three structures reported destroyed, according to interim Fire Chief John Wickersham in comments to local media outlet KOB.

Fire crews are continuing efforts to contain the flames as conditions remain challenging, and authorities are urging residents in affected areas to leave immediately for their safety.

The situation remains active, with further updates expected as firefighting operations continue.
