Indian low-cost carrier Akasa Air has announced that co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer Praveen Iyer is leaving the airline, according to a company statement released on Wednesday.

Indian carriers Air India and Akasa Air cancelled several flights on Tuesday after massive ash plumes from Ethiopia’s Hayli Gubbi volcano disrupted regional air operations.

Akasa Air, India’s third-largest airline, said on Wednesday it aims to go public within two to five years and plans to resume pilot hiring in the second half of next year.

In the past 48 hours, at least 10 Indian flights have been hit with hoax bomb threats, resulting in significant delays and flight diversions.
