The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is in talks to acquire a natural gas-fired power plant in Türkiye, according to Bloomberg HT TV.

The reconstruction of the thermal power plant in Azerbaijan’s Mingachevir will result in the savings of 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas, equivalent to the annual production from the Absheron field, Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov said on Monday.

Azerbaijan and Serbia explored the possible joint construction of a gas power plant in the Serbian city of Nis.

Currently, Moldova receives gas through transit via Ukraine. If this transit stops on January 1, the country may face a serious gas shortage at the height of the heating season. This would create significant challenges in supplying gas to both the residential sector and the Transnistrian power plant, which is the primary electricity source for Moldova, including Transnistria.

RWE and Westfalen Group have begun work on construction of hydrogen tank infrastructure in Lingen, News.az reports citing Neftegazru.
