Japan on Monday restarted the world’s largest nuclear power plant, its operator said, after an earlier attempt was briefly halted due to a minor technical issue.

South Korea’s Nuclear Safety and Security Commission on Thursday authorized the restart of the Shin-Hanul 2 reactor, which had been offline for maintenance after two malfunctions earlier this year.

Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), urged the international community to work towards reengaging North Korea on nuclear safety.
