Russia has announced that it will shut down Poland's Consulate General in Kaliningrad on August 29, 2025, in response to Poland's closure of Russia’s consulate in Krakow.

Russia has officially shut down Poland’s Consulate General in St. Petersburg, escalating a diplomatic tit-for-tat dispute with Warsaw.

Officers from the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) have arrested a German national, Nikolai Gaiduk, who is accused of participating in the sabotage of a gas metering station in Kaliningrad in March 2024.
