The Israeli military says it carried out airstrikes on what it described as Hezbollah weapon depots in southern Lebanon, including a site located within a civilian-populated area.

Israeli tanks fired shells near UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon on Monday, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said, calling the act a serious violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Thursday night that it struck several Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, including weapon depots and a rocket launcher, citing violations of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon.

The third meeting of the 3+3 South Caucasus Regional Cooperation Platform, which concluded in Istanbul, issued a joint declaration calling for an immediate cease-fire in the Middle East and condemning violations of international law in Gaza and Lebanon.

South Korea said on Tuesday it will issue a ban on its citizens travelling to the border areas of Israel and Lebanon after advising them to leave the countries amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, News.az reports citing Reuters .
