Chinese smartphone maker Realme announced it will be integrated into Oppo as a subbrand. The move is aimed at pooling resources and reducing costs for both companies, which share the same parent firm, BBK Electronics.

Apple was dethroned as China’s biggest smartphone seller in 2024, with local competitors Vivo and Huawei surpassing the iPhone maker, following a 17% decline in its annual shipments, according to data from research firm Canalys.
