Ex-Honduran President freed after Trump pardon

Former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez has been released from a U.S. prison, where he was serving a 45-year sentence for drug trafficking and firearms offenses, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Hernandez’s wife, Ana Garcia, confirmed on social media that his release followed a pardon granted by U.S. President Donald Trump. The former leader had been extradited to the United States to face trial on the charges, News.Az reports, citing Reuters.
The pardon marks a dramatic turn in Hernandez’s legal saga, which had drawn significant international attention due to his high-profile role in Honduran politics and involvement in major drug-related investigations.
