Iran envoy says ‘new page’ opens in relations with Azerbaijan
A new page has opened in Iran-Azerbaijan relations with the meeting of the two countries’ presidents on the state border, Iran’s Ambassador to Baku Seyyed Abbas Mousavi has said on X, News.Az reports.
"I am proud that on the last day of my diplomatic mission with the participation of the presidents of Iran and Azerbaijan, the Khudafarin and Giz Galasi hydroelectric projects were put into operation as a successful example of water diplomacy," Mousavi said.A ceremony to commission the Khudafarin hydroelectric complex and inaugurate the Giz Galasi hydroelectric complex on the Araz River was held on 19 May with Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in attendance.
