Armenia continues its attempts to move out from under Russian influence. Such a possibility, despite Moscow’s deep involvement in the Ukrainian campaign, still exists.

Preparations have accelerated at the Alican customs checkpoint on the Armenia-Türkiye border, which is expected to become a key step in efforts to normalize relations between the two countries.

Authorities in Armenia plan to take control of the Russian-guarded Akhurik checkpoint on the border with Türkiye in the near future, a diplomatic source said.
