Turkey has received its first floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO), which is expected to begin operations at the Sakarya gas field in the Black Sea in 2026, Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources A. Bayraktar said, News.Az reports.

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced on Tuesday that Türkiye's newly acquired floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) platform has departed from Singapore.

Türkiye's energy fleet's new member, a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel will depart from Singapore at the beginning of next week and arrive in the country after two months of sailing to start production in 2026, said Turkish energy and natural resources minister on Friday, News.Az reports citing Anadolu Agency.

On May 12, the semi-submersible vessel XIN GUANG HUA, the largest of its kind in Asia and part of the COSCO SHIPPING fleet, masterfully submerged at Qingdao Port.
This operation was for the successful loading of China’s independently engineered and constructed cylindrical FPSO HAI KUI No.1 which holds the title of Asia’s most voluminous.
