The United Kingdom has announced £1.33 million ($1.7 million) in humanitarian assistance to support Pakistan’s response to the devastating 2025 monsoon season. The funding will benefit more than 223,000 people across seven flood-hit districts in Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Heavy rains have caused flash floods in northwestern Pakistan and other parts of the country, killing at least 49 people over the past 24 hours, officials said on Friday.

Heavy monsoon rains have unleashed devastating floods across Gilgit-Baltistan, resulting in the deaths of at least 10 people and injuries to four others, local media reported Sunday. The floods have caused infrastructure damage exceeding PKR 20 billion.
