Authorities in southern Switzerland are warning of potential flooding in an Alpine valley after a massive glacial landslide buried the village of Blatten and blocked a nearby river.

A 64-year-old man is missing after a massive avalanche of rock and ice from a glacier swept down a mountainside in Switzerland.

The Swiss village of Blatten has been partially destroyed after a huge chunk of glacier crashed down into the valley.
