The Sudanese army said its air defenses intercepted multiple drone attacks targeting Omdurman, west of Khartoum, and the northern city of Atbara early Friday.

At least 100 people were killed in attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Omdurman, the twin city of Sudan's capital Khartoum, according to local medics.

Forty-six people were killed when a Sudanese military transport plane crashed into a residential neighbourhood on the outskirts of Khartoum, the regional government said Wednesday.
