The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on two pro-government Georgian television broadcasters, Imedi and POSTV, accusing them of disseminating Russian disinformation.

On Monday, Meta (META.O), the owner of Facebook, announced that it was banning RT, Rossiya Segodnya, and other Russian state media networks from its platforms, News.Az reports citing Reuters.

On Friday, the Kremlin accused the United States of exerting unacceptable pressure on Russian media following the U.S. Justice Department's charges against Russian TV contributor Dimitri Simes and his wife for allegedly violating U.S. sanctions, News.Az reports citing Voice of America.

Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov is convinced that Russia should adequately respond to restrictions imposed on its media by the West, News.Az reports citing Gazeta.Ru.
