Energy major bp has sold a 10% stake in the Shafag solar project in Azerbaijan’s Jabrayil district to Hungary’s MVM Energetika, expanding the international partnership behind one of the country’s key renewable energy projects.

Construction work on the Shafag solar project in Azerbaijan’s Jabrayil district progressed on schedule during the third quarter, bp-Azerbaijan said in a statement.

bp, SOCAR, and the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) have signed multiple agreements that allow TPAO to join the Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) for the Shafag-Asiman offshore block, located in Azerbaijan’s sector of the Caspian Sea.
